Originally planned as the follow-up album to the masterpiece "What's Going On" (1971), the unreleased 1972 album "You're the Man" was shelved after the lead single of the same name failed to become a crossover hit. To commemorate Motown's 60th anniversary this year, the album is finally being released on CD for the first time!

Although each track has been included on past compilation albums and deluxe editions, this is the first time they have been compiled into a single album.
Three tracks, "My Last Chance," "Symphony," and "I'd Give My Life for You," are included in newly mixed versions by Salaam Remi, a composer and producer who has worked extensively with Nas, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse, and others.
In addition, rare tracks such as the long version of the unreleased 1972 Christmas single "I Want to Come Home for Christmas" are also included.
