A collection of six original artist proofs in the original period folio dated from 1904 to 1908. Proofs all present and listed in order with copyrights by Colliers and Sons, Colliers Weekly and Frederic Remington. Created and issued while the artist was living they are currently 117-120 years old.
One of the most interesting facts regarding the Collier prints was that during the 1903-1908 period before being released singly into general circulation they were released as proofs in groups into the population in folio. Another even more little known fact was that Frederic Remington destroyed by burning many of his original paintings associated with the Colliers contract. The original work lost from history FOREVER only recoverable through the half tones or oil on canvas un-provenanced reproductions. Folio 18” X 24” Image is 12 1/4” X 18”.
