Large staghorn fern pup
Staghorn ferns are ancient plants that like air plants grow on other plants or trees. Their roots hold them in place, and they absorb water and nutrients through their fronds. They should not be grown in pots or in the ground but tied to sphagnum moss and mounted to a board (or tree) or hung in hanging basket. They need low to medium light and moderate moisture. They reproduce by creating more pups that will fill in the plant. These plants grow into worlds of art no matter where you choose to mount them. This pup is about 3 feet and has both fertile leaves (antler shaped fronds) and sterile (shield like leaves at the base) ready to mount.
