Comes with a brand new valve installed and a freshly replaced 12mm. x 2.2mm. flint along with 5x additional replacement flints (12mm. x 2.2mm. each). It is the maximum allowable length that can be put in these Bics. It'll last a very long time as long as you're capable of replacing the flints.

Each flint averages 3-5 refills depending on how it's used. Do the math... each flint keeps you from buying approximately 4 Bic lighters and you get 5x of them. I've seen individual Bics at the gas station as high as $3.99 each and when you really need one, you will gladly pay it.

Since it comes with 5x REPLACEMENT FLINTS, that should give you enough time to scavenge for additional flints from ones you may find or ones your friends or family are tossing out. That'll be plenty of replacement parts like springs and striker wheels or wind covers (hood) should you ever need them.
