VTG Collingbourne' s Box Mending Floss + Misc Spools and Tatting Cotton
I found this thread in my father's house (pet and smoke free) after he died. Based on other items discovered with it, I think it belonged to my great aunt who died in the late 1970s. Included is a box of 10, some partially used, Collingbourne's 2-ply Mending Floss, each originally 25 yards. The box indicates that this thread should be used for Mending and Darning Silk or Lisle Hosiery and Lingerie. I've also included 1 partially used Star and 2 partially used J.P. Coats tatting cotton along with six miscellaneous spools of thread without labels. The box is the original box, and I tried to replace missing spools with like thread. I could have been wrong but there are probably the same threads in the miscellaneous grouping. The plastic covering on the box is torn. The box itself is in good shape with the gold seal Learn to Remember Names Begin with Mine still intact. Please feel free to ask questions!
