Nothing has helped me more with algae and diatom then amazon frogbit as they can shade too much light and suck up extra nutrients.This is a very resilient plant and I do not fertilize my waters as the fish and snails keep my frogbit nice and poofy. The one advice with this plant is not to allow the tops to get wet. I avoid this by keeping water levels a little lower if there is a lid and allowing it to grow in very thick keeping filter splash to a confined area of frogbit.My frogbit is free from any snails, snails eggs nor duckweed!
