Item Description
We have prepared a model created from scratch for a brand that has been handcrafting eyeglass frames in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, for many years. The 6mm thick frame, made by carving celluloid, has a classic yet sharp form and is designed to be easy to wear. Based on the Wellington style, it is small and slightly rounded, giving a soft impression.
The included lenses are multi-coated lenses, which do not have functions such as UV protection or blue light cut, but they provide a clearer view compared to so-called dummy lenses that are usually attached to regular products. Also, if you take them to an optician, you can change the frame to prescription lenses or sunglasses while keeping the frame as is.
The model name "ALLEN" is based on the image of the glasses that American film director Woody Allen might wear when starting the production.
【Meihin Haruo Sakaku】
An eyewear brand that brings together the technical skills that are synonymous with celluloid frames. Currently, most of the celluloid frames distributed in Japan are made of acetate, an inexpensive material, but Meihin Haruo Sakaku is particular about the old-fashioned celluloid. The temples are made using a "no-core" manufacturing method that does not pass a metal core through them, and are molded only with the strength of celluloid. In addition, the fit of the temples, which are rounded as much as possible, makes it less likely to hurt your ears even after wearing them for a long time. Seven-leaf hinges are used and the screws are fixed with nuts, but this manufacturing method is not currently confirmed in other brands.
A well-known brand that is particular about all aspects of the old-fashioned manufacturing method and follows the image of the time.
